Do Hd Hiccups Lower A 3dmark Score?
If a hard drive coughs and skips in the middle of a benchmark, does the program register it as a framerate dip?
I get good scores, but I think they could be higher if this wasn't the case... this also happens in unreal 2k3, GTA3, Army Ops, and a couple other games... I know why (5400rpm, 512k cache-poop), and I know what I need, but I'd like to know if HD speed has a direct effect on benchmark scores... -r-a-g-e-j-g- |
it does affect score..
defrag lately? |
every 2 wks...
It's the cache size on this stoopid HD (512k vs. 2mb)that's getting me... This also seems to affect performance on my playstation emulator...
I've never even seen another ATA-100 hard drive with a cache that small... |
