Need updated video drivers for linux
I am working on HP LH Pro Netserver and there is a onboard trident 9000i video chip. I have not be able to find an updated driver for this video and tried to used a third party mach64 pci video card. After much searching I was informed to come to the Nvdia site to look for video drivers for linux. I did not ask detail questions about this information and decided to look for myself. What I need to know is can I use the freebsd video drivers from nvidia to update the trident 9000i video driver on this server so that we are able to graphically use this server for administration?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Need updated video drivers for linux
That is why I posted the question because it was suggested to me to do this. What you could OF wrote if you are aware of the information was either yes you can use these drivers or not? Lets be professional!

Re: Need updated video drivers for linux
well since it is not a nvidia chipset you certainly can not use the driver...
try running in your terminal the command line: lspci -v
search the output for something like:
[VGA compatible controller]
and check the type of chipset you got...
I hope it helps...
