The Current PC Gaming trend continues...Splinter Cell Chaos Theory delayed until 2005
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/33661
Ubisoft sent out a press release announcing that Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory has been delayed. The game was originally scheduled for a November release on PC and Xbox, but now isn't due until March 2005. I guess their busy not getting on crytek's back about a 1.3 patch for farcry. I was looking foward to this one too...ashame, cuz if stalker comes out in March, i'm putting my $$ toward that instead of this. But then again, with the way dates go...neither game will probably make it out in March lol. |

I can't find the actual press release.
Is both PC and XBOX delayed? or is it PC ver only delayed? If thats it, then I'll assume Microsoft paid them to push the PC ver out, to help Xbox sales.. ;) |

That's not so bad. Pandora tommorow is pretty recent anyhow.

But it isn't overkill when PT is buggier than crap and UBI has basically abandoned the PC version :\.

I haven't yet finished Pandora Tommorow. Publishers are definately trying to rev up the development cycle. Probably trying to compete with EA.

Are the shadows still screwed up w/ATI cards and PT?

Re: The Current PC Gaming trend continues...Splinter Cell Chaos Theory delayed until 2005
Oh, and for those who don't know, Pandora Tomorrow wasn't made by the same developer that made Splinter Cell 1, it was handled by a different team (well actually 2 different teams). The ones making Chaos Theory are the original Splinter Cell developers.
In fact, Pandora Tomorrow wasn't even supposed to be a full blown sequel, it was just supposed to be one of those "1.5 expansion packs" along with Black Arrow and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder. But after a while they felt that it was long enough and had enough new features (such as the multiplayer) to actually market it as a bigger game. But Chaos Theory from the start was made to be the real sucessor to Splinter Cell. So they aren't really quickening up development cycles, they're just coming out with more "stand alone expansion pack" kind of games. |

You must be talking about the Xbox version because the PC version is failing and has very few people world wide. |
