compiled new kernel: 2.6.3-7 --> 188.8.131.52 ... Good upgrade?
Just upgraded my kernel from a custom mandrake kernel 2.6.3-7 (default MDK 10.0) to the latest, 184.108.40.206 ... In general, I'd like to hear from users who've made a similar upgrade and know pros/cons, what's improved, etc. In particular, I was trying to circumvent some of the stability problems I've been having and was hoping that upgrading to the newest kernel would do the trick (I hope)...

Well, so far so good... The stability problems seem to have went away. Running NvAGP = 1 and so far so good. Before I wouldn't last for more than 30min - 1hr doing anything more than surfing the web before a lockup, sometimes I'd boot repeatedly with lockups. After putting in the 18.104.22.168 kernel I'm able to play ut2004 and americas army for hours. Before I was lucky to get past a load screen. Yay!
