Beyond Good & Evil with 6800, bad artifacts..

I thought Ill give this game a try since people seems to enjoy it.

Problem is that I get heavy artifacts (flashing blocks and strange white
patterns) that makes the game unplayable.
These things goes away if I disable "HW Vertex processing" in the game
setup! (the game then runs very slow then..)

I have applied the patch 101, still the same..

Nothing overclocked and driverver. 61.77
All other games runs perfect without artifacts.

Is there some fix for this?
Are more people with 6800 cards experience this?

Its just sad if I need to forget about this game :(

The fix is..... turn on V-Sync !

i just finshed BG&E the other day and had the same problems at start up as yourself
i did a bit of reading/messing with my settings and found out that running without v-sync was the cause of the artifacting

i just made a game profile forcing v-sync on and after that i played all the way through without a problem

i know BG&E was'nt a reall big seller (which is a shame as it was one of the best 3rd person adventures ive played in a long long time) but i hear theres talk of a BG&E2 & 3! which would be very cool

any way i hope this helps let us know how you get on

BG&E Is a great game actually, ... if those goones could only do a proper mouse invert and not to both axis :argh:

lol. I frogot about that.. It drove me completely nuts.. Obviously they didn't have a tester that plays with inverted mouse.

But except for that, yes, it was a very short and sweet game!

This is a well know bug with BG&E PC i had the same problem as so have many many other ppl...thankfully someone managed to fix it ....but you'll need to hack your save game!

this is know as the central hall bug and you can find the tools you'll need here

http://www.terrygoodkind.net/~rahly/bgae.php

BGAEFix is the one you'll need run it from you BG&E install dir and it will back up and patch your save game file to give you the square key you'll then need to give that key to HH (use the inventory system)

hope this help but if you need mmore info check out
