6106 & 6111 "Unknown Symbol" Kernel 2.6.9
Wow this is annoying posting in Links.
Anyway, 6106 & 6111 appear to compile but won't load on my Slackware 10 (patched) system. 1gb DDR, Athlon XP 2600, Abit KD7 (333mhz) System. I get the same nvidia error log on both. I'll post it once I get back to X. Compiler is GCC 3.4.2 Could be a source path issue, but I doubt it, 6106 compiled just fine for me on 2.6.8.1 |

(newb) Ok, so you overwrite that file. Can't you version the log file or something? See I really don't want to boot back into 2.6.9 recompile fail and then copy that file somewhere safe . :lame: |

If I'm not mistaken, 2.6.9 yet again breaks the nvidia driver. Until Nvidia releases a new driver, keep your old kernel and do not upgrade.

actually, according to another thread, there's a patch out there that should fix the problem. (it's in another 2.6.9 related thread) I haven't had a chance to see if it works yet.

There is a patch out yes, but I think it's not for the vanilla 2.6.9 kernel, but for the ck-tree. It might apply to the vanilla tree as well, I'm not sure.

You can get a broken out patch from the ck-tree and patch it manually,which works fine for me.
