nForce3: Limited mixer controls under Linux vs Windows

After figuering out that both OSS and ALSA drivers work for the nForce3 sound [http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...errerid=21189]
I tried with both to adjust the bass level compared to the treble one coming out of the line out connector, but no success yet. I have Altec Lancing 2.1 setup with only one line-in for all.
ALSA: Tried amixer, alsamixer, and alsamixergui as well as others (kmix, etc...) but all only show these controls (grabbed from "amixer controls"):

OSS: Tried nvmixer, but again, the same controls appear.

Is there an equivalent to SoundMan in the Windows world? As there I can adjust all I need just fine.

Re: nForce3: Limited mixer controls under Linux vs Windows
I just switched to Windows right now [I have dual boot] and what I have is an ASUS app called RealTek Sound Manager (SoundMan in the tasks list). In it there is an equalizer that makes it possible to bring up the treble level and bring down the bass one. Is there anything like it for Linux?

Re: nForce3: Limited mixer controls under Linux vs Windows
I am going to have to bump this. I am poking around the source code for nvmixer, hoping that there is an option to raise/lower the bass/treble, or enable some kind of equalizer function.

This is really key, because my 2.1 sub doesn't have a volume control.
