Bailey's Irish Cream

'Tis a fantastic drink. I'm close to finishing a liter for the night and I must say, it has been an amazing liter so far.

I like the Hawinian version better: Kulua (or waht ever it's spelled as)

Re: Bailey's Irish Cream

I like it too, but I must say for a drinking binge nothing beats Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Goes down smooth and stays that way. MMmmmmmMMmm. :beer2:

Hm :). Nice with milk as a nightcap. Heavy on the calories though.

Kahlua.

Try this, Black Russian. 1/3 Kahlua, 2/3 Grey Goose and 3 ice cubes. Stir and let it sit for a few min. The best damn drink on the face of the earth.

Re: Bailey's Irish Cream

Kahlua is made in mexico, you can get a huge bottle for 10 bucks there. Irish cream is great, but it's very expensive to be downing an entire litre in a nite. The cheaper brands arnt bad, but nothing is as good as bailey's

Heh...I didn't think this thread was going to get any posts at all. :)

Black Russians are AWESOME! I love teh Kahlua. It's like $24 for a liter though. :( I can't afford Goose either, so I use Smirnoff Vanilla Twist (I'm a sucker for vanilla anything and it's $13 for a liter). I'm a huge fan of White Russians, too.

And what is a Mexican Martini?

Oh, and the Bailey's was a gift. My roommate's dad hates it, had a liter and asked if I wanted it, said "hell yes" and proceeded to make a night out of it. :)

No, they're good.

But I prefer Guinness by itself.

I love Guiness and bailey's...never had Jameson though. I've heard carbombs are fantastic and am looking forward to having one.

Good vodka is a must in any house IMO. I love vodka and tasted many different brands and still look for new stuff to taste all the time. Just recently I got a few nice bottles of Polish vodka Ultimat and Pravda, very smooth grain based flavors. Russian Standard is another brand that recently started appearing here in the states and its every bit as good as Goose if not better, a bit smoother imo.

If you are looking for something less expensive, try Sky. Its clean and smooth, no head ache and hang-over pains. Perfect for mixing drinks.

All the other stuff like Smirnoff, Stoly, Absolut, especially Gordon's is pure crap imo. And if you like flavored stuff, make your own, don't buy pre-mixed or flavored crap. Get your own juice and mix it in. That way you get good vodka and the taste that you like.

You seem like the perfect person to ask this:
What is a good potato-based vodka? I have heard that they are among the smoothest types one can intake and I would love to try one.

I'll look into Sky as well. Thanks.

And can anyone tell me what a Mexican Martini is?

Fatman 01-11-05 12:14 PM

Re: Bailey's Irish Cream

Chopin is probably the most common Polish brand of potato vodkas.

afaik Mexican Matrini is sweet and sour drink with tequila.

I must say when I first tried Vodka (Smirnoff), I hated that stuff, it tasted like rubbing achohol. I'll give that Sky thing a try if it's cheap and good. Normally I never buy xpensive booze. Most of the time I only buy Jack Daniel and Canadian Club. Sometimes a bottle of Captain Morgan. Being a student sux... :( owell.

btw, I remember this once my housemate bought a bottle of Coniac? (check spellin) for like 70 buks CA (40 oz), normally, a 40 ozer is like 20 buks for other stuff. I thought he was an idiot, since he only wanted to use like 2 shots of it to cook a chicken. :afro:

Well I see it in a different way, if I buy drinks its for me to enjoy and its not for general consumption like water or tea. And when you buy good stuff, like Goose or JW Blue Label, you can taste the difference.

For me, only Stolichnaya (Russian) and Grey Goose (French) will do, please.

The only good thing about Skyy is the pretty bottle. BUt Vox (Danish) has a prettier bottle: Austrian crystal designed by Laura Handler.

Re: Bailey's Irish Cream

Stoly is crap man, its not even really Russian. As a matter of fact real Russian company who makes Stoly filed a suit in NY asking to stop sales of this crappy knock-off.

My roommate told me about an experiment some college kids did where they bought a bottle of Skol and a bottle of Goose to see the difference. Obviously, out of the bottle the Goose was MUCH better.

However, they took the Skol and ran it through a Britta water filter 3 or 4 times and compared the two again and were unable to tell any difference.

Pfft...that's for amateurs.

Everclear 190 proof. 95% alcohol. 1 shot = ~ 4 beers. According to the label, taking more than 5 shots in an hour can cause permanent blindness and even death.

Grey Goose is the best Vodka by far IMHO. Nothing beats a good single malt Scotch though.

Me likeys Jagermeister... either just shots, or in the format of a Jagerbomb (a shot dropped in a cup with 3/4 a can of Red Bull, or the same amount of Sobe Monster for the value conscious) :firedevil

ewww...I hate Jag. The taste of black licorice makes me want to vomit.

And drinks mixed with Red Bull are highly dangerous if many are consumed in the same time span. Alcohol, being a depressant, and Red Bull, being a stimulant, mess with your heart and can kill you. I remember a lot of people dying from them a few years ago.

Yeah, people here do Jager Bombs all the time. I've often wondered about that.

Anyway, you haven't lived until you've done a shot of liquid heroin. It's 1/3 Bacardi 151, 1/3 Rumple Minze, and 1/3 Jager. Good stuff. There's also a version that's 1/4 of the mentioned ingredients plus 1/4 Goldschlager, but I can't stand that crap.

I had about half a liter of goldschlager on NYE 2 years ago and threw up 9 times that I remember. Then I passed out in an odd position with my wallet cutting off almost all circulation to my right leg for 9 or so hours leaving my leg temporarily paralyzed for 4 days. It was terrible.

I got so loaded once I passed out about a foot away from my bed. I had a helluvah hangover for the next two days, it was painful to exist, not to mention physical activity like taking a piss. Anyhow, the scarriest thing from the whole experience was not remembering how I got home, how did I cross the roads and not got hit by a car or something like that, and how the hell did I open my door.

btw, how much do u guys weigh??

I'm about 6.2'' and 142 Ib exactly (yea, i've got rocket motabolism)

The most I've drank (without puking) was about 12 beers in 1 night (from 9:30 to 2:30, btw, i'm asian). I remembers everything, like how i got home and stuff, but I was sore for the next whole day.

There were only 2 incidents when I actually "don't remember" some of the stuff I did: Once was b/c I drank wayyy too fast, 1 and half 40ozers of blackbull (10% beer, yak) in an hr; the other was when I had my "slosh the frosh" last yr, when I did a funnel and 2 shots in a row.

Also this once I was really drunk (sitting on a chair in the backyard), and when i wanted to get up for a peee-wee break, I just fell flat on my face.. Good thing there's grass.

Re: Bailey's Irish Cream

I'm 6' ~ 185lbs. I used to be able to drink like a champ, as I said before, but not so much anymore.

My best story is when I passed out standing up for about 30 minutes in the bathroom stall my freshman year in the dorm. I was leaning on the toilet paper dispenser and just blacked out for a while. My friends came and woke me by knocking on the door. 'Twas a good time had by all.

I. Love. Black. Russians.

I'm having one right now. 2 shots Kahlua 1 shot Smirnoff Vanilla Twist Vodka...it's a party in my mouth. There isn't the SLIGHTEST taste of alcohol whatsoever. yum!

I'm 5'11" and around 150lbs. After a beer and the equivalent of I'd say roughly 6-7 vodka shots in an hour I made very good use of the toilet bowl.
