Biggest Friggin Rifle I've Ever Seen!

http://www.barrettrifles.com/rifles.htm

Bottom of the page. A 25mm rifle. What an amazing weapon. I've wanted a Barret M-82A1 forever now, and now I want this XM-109 25mm Rifle. This thing looks awesome. Nothing like the power of big bore rifles :D.

*Chuckles* .50 caliber rifles. Ack!

I didn't move to the ghetto and it seems to be moving to me. Maybe I need to replace my old mossberg mariner with one of those :D

I must admit that 25mm rifle "at the bottom of the page" is one beast.

Re: Biggest Friggin Rifle I've Ever Seen!

I saw in a gun magazine a few years ago that someone was producing rifles that were similar to M-16s but fired .50caliber rounds. They were small, relatively light and had semi, full auto and burst firing. Yes in .50 caliber.

Anyone know what those are called? I remember it was some project to make insanely powerful infantry weapons that could be used to take down anything in a very short amount of time. I dont know how effective they would be, but it deffinitely sounds good ;)

EDIT: BTW, in case you didnt notice the .50BMG caliber is only 12.7mm... that means the XM109 fires rounds nearly twice as large as the .50cal M82

Definetly woulndt seem very effective, full auto or burst on a 50 cal would be EXTREMELY hard to recover from especially in a small light and compact stock.

If you are talking .50 caliber pistol, that would have been the "Desert Eagle". I can't imagine the recoil on a pistol like that.

The recoil actually isnt that bad, its not an actual 50 caliber shell as shot in a rifle, but more of a size comparison to a 44 magnum i guess you could say.
