Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
I made a custom 2 minute benchmark at the beginning of the "Prison Yard Riot" level; this is where Riddick runs around shooting guards. If you would like to make your own benchmark you can do the following. In the console (ctrl+alt+~) use "record demo 1" to start and "stop" to stop recording. Then in the console you are now able to benchmark your demo using "benchmark demo 1". Test system in Sig. All graphics set to highest except shader mode is in 2.0. 32Bit: Windows XP Home SP2 Driver 66.93 64Bit:Xp Professional x64 edition - build 3790 (service pack 1,v1433) Driver 66.96 http://www.oneimagehost.com/files/bench1.jpg I dont feel like editing the charts but here are the results of the 32Bit version of the game on the 64Bit windows. 1280*1024 0AA 0AF Max Frame rate: 82.21 Average Frame rate: 30.75 Min Frame rate: 13.99 http://www.oneimagehost.com/files/bench2.jpg 1280*1024 4AA 8AF Max Frame rate: 59.28 Average Frame rate: 21.78 Min Frame rate: 10.41 Lowest settings 800*600 0AA 0AF http://www.oneimagehost.com/files/bench3.jpg Right now there is no big difference in my benchmarks with Riddick in 32bit or 64bit. There could be a difference when more optimized drivers come out or maybe we will see a difference with the 64bit version of Farcry. |
Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
You should prolly have run both in XP64 with same drivers and all that..
The performance loss of running 32bit code in XP64 shouldnt be too noticable. But the performance difference between the driver versions could be what makes the difference here.. Good to se a benchmark nevertheless :) |
Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
Thanks so much! been waiting for someone to do some benchies with this... Could you possibly try the lowest quality possible, to see what kind of CPU difference 32bit vs. 64bit gives?

Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
In 64bit windows my computer shut down almost every time I tried to run the 32bit version of riddick. :( Anyway I updated my results.

Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
Good work dood ... yup when i look to the numbers first thing comes in mind is drivers optimizations .
& thanks for explaining how to record a demo in CoR .. i was willing to do one for myself for some time ! :) |
Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
great job, odd that the 32bit version is faster then the 64bit one in WinXP64 hehe..
64bit version doesnt dip as much as 32bit on XP64 or 32bit win, nice.. |
Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
I didn't even know there was a 64bit version of the game...

Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
in the "System" dir of the game there are following dirs:
Win32_x86 Win32_x86_SSE Win32_x86_SSE2 Win64_AMD64 All containing their own "SbzEngine.exe". The last one being the 64bit version. First game to ship with Win64 exes I guess. |
Re: Riddick EFBB 64Bit Vs. 32Bit Benchmark
This is great for people with a Athlon 64 and a lower end video card like the FX 5200 who would play at lower resolutions like 800x600. It allows them to take advantage of 64 bit processing, keeping the game running above 40fps!
