kernel configuration with the nvidia drivers

Hi,

I'd like to know if I have to enable this option when I configure my kernel

Device Drivers > Character devices > <*> /dev/agpgart (AGP Support) = CONFIG_AGP ?

Device Drivers > Character devices > NVIDIA nForce/nForce2 chipset support = CONFIG_AGP_NVIDIA ?

Question may seem stupid but I always ask myself the question when I configure my kernel

cheers

Re: kernel configuration with the nvidia drivers

No, this option is not required (the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver includes a functionally equivalent nForce AGP GART driver).

And what about

Device Drivers > Character devices > <*> /dev/agpgart (AGP Support) = CONFIG_AGP ?

Should I enable it ?

Re: kernel configuration with the nvidia drivers

It shouldn't interfere with the driver, but without a backend module that supports your chipset, the AGPGART (Linux AGP driver) frontend won't be able to drive it. If you disable CONFIG_AGP_NVIDIA, you should probably also disable CONFIG_AGP.
