news publisher hates me.

and apparently, it also hates my HTML code. :p

(if you checked the front page at about 4:30 CST, you would have seen me editing the Afternoon Tidbits post about 10 times because... well, News Publisher hates me :p )

I remember News Publisher! Had to save everything to a clipboard before previewing, I'd preview and go back to edit and BOOM, everything would be gone... Makes me love kb's custom system more every time I use it!

It happens to the best of us. There are times where I edit the same news post multiple times. You might want to build a set of template text files of the various news posts that you make.

With the help of an initial e-mail from MikeC, that's what I've done. All you have to do as a result is copy and paste. It sure beats having to code everything by hand. :D

I am planning on replacing News Publisher. My real job has me swamped until the new year, but I should have time in january to write a replacement. I will be adding a file upload feature too, so if you want to add an image to a news posting you don't have to faff around with FTP.

By the way, you should have seen what the nV News staff did before news publisher. You would literally download and edit the index.htm file yourself. It caused all sorts of problems if two people were making updates at the same time.

Eh, I remember when I was on Creature Creations team ( It's a Creature fansite, a game by Creature Labs. It's offline now, but it was a nice site when the Creature Community wasn't among the undead ) ...
Before we began using NewsPro ( and later our own .php script ) , one member of the team was sometimes uploading index.htm in binary instead of ASCII and the whole darn site became unreadable! It was hilarious :D
We just can't imagine the wonders MySQL & PHP/Perl give us before using them I guess :)

Yeah, you have to watch out for that.
