Why no SuSE RPMs for 4191?
Could someone who works for nVIDIA tell me why are there no 4191 RPMs built for SuSE?

It particularly annoying when there a dozens available for Red Hat.

I wonder.....
Im wondering whether we'll have to wait for SuSE to produce their own RPMs for this; its a shame 'cos I tend to hold Nvidia's support in high regard.

SuSE RPMs will be posted soon. I apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you can use the SRPM to rebuild a driver for your system.

I've tryed the tar's and source rpm's all it got me was one heck of a headache. Now all I seem to be able to install is the dummy drivers off the cd. Please post them soon.

Fatal server error when initializing glx extensions signal 11 server aborting.

Thank you .

Thank you Andy :) . I look forward to the RPMs. You might save some queries if there was something mentioning this on the download page.

Thank you very much Andy! I really appreciate how Nvidia supports Linux and the SuSE Linux distro. I bought and I am extremely happy with my Nvidia GeForce 4 ti 4400 card because of your excellent Linux support. So thanks again for the info and upcoming RPMs. Happy Holidays to everyone at Nvidia too!!

The following might be trivial for an experienced user; I just got an MSI board with VIA KT400 chipset and an NVIDIA TNT2 M64 (I know, it's not the top of the range but that would do nicely for now) and SuSE 8.0.

My system is completely unstable, i.e. shuts itself down quickly after booting ... but not systematically, just most of the time. It could be linked to the AGP card and a wrong driver (no, I have not tried with Windows yet).

Is there a correct driver available for SuSE and my combination of chipset and NVIDIA card ?

The 3123 version of nVIDIA's drivers should work for your graphics card under SuSE 8.0 (no idea about compatibility issues with your motherboard) http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=li...splay_1.0-3123

Have you considered going to SuSE 8.1? That might solve your problems...

Andy Mecham 12-16-02 07:09 PM

SuSE RPMs are now posted on the 1.0-4191 driver download page.
