VBO seems not in VRAM after total buffer size exceeds 128M
We are doing experiments with rendering of big models ( from 1 million triangles to 10 million triangles) on Nvdia and ATI cards. The Nvidia cards we are using are 5700LE 128M, 5950Ultra 256M and 6800GT 256M. For the rendering of these big models we use OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects and we found that on video card of both 128M and 256M memory, test results showed that FPS drops quickly after the total buffer exceeds 128M ( we divide the buffer into small ones), it seems that the Nvidia driver does not put VBOs in VRAM after total amount of buffer exceeds 128M, even on a card with 256M memory, we are wondering if it's true.
