Failed to obtain a shared memory identifier
Hello everybody

I have a problem with the NVIDIA driver, running on Red Hat 7.2, with my own 2.4.19 kernel. Everything works fine if I comment the 'Load glx' line in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. With glx enabled, I get the following error in XFree86.log:

(II) NVIDIA(0): AGP 4X successfully initialized
(II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "1280x1024"
(II) NVIDIA(0): Using the NVIDIA 2D acceleration architecture

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

I tried with the 1.0-4191 and 1.0-3123, both with 2.4.29 and 2.4.20 kernel. Nothing works :-(

My configuration is:
Geforce 4 MX 420
XFree 4.1.0-3
Bi-processor AMD MP 1.6 GHz
A7M266-D Asus motherboard
2 Gb of RAM

Maybe there is a problem with the shm option in my kernel?
The result of the mount command is:

/dev/hdb7 on / type ext3 (rw)
none on /proc type proc (rw)
/dev/hdb1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
/dev/hdb2 on /home type ext2 (rw,noatime)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/hdb3 on /usr type ext3 (rw)
none on /mfs type mfs (rw,dfsa=1)

And my /etc/fstab :

LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
LABEL=/home /home ext2 defaults,noatime 1 2
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
LABEL=/usr /usr ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdb5 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb6 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0

none /mfs mfs dfsa=1 0 0

I also included Highmem support and MTTR support in the kernel.

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot
