Trouble Detecting a TV

I've got a FreeBSD machine plugged into a TV via an S-Video cable (no other screens are plugged into the machine)

Code:

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    HorizSync 40 - 60
    VertRefresh 60
EndSection

Code:

Section "Device"

    Identifier  "nvidia0"
    Driver      "nvidia"
    VendorName  "Nvidia"
    BoardName  "Some GF3"

    Option "NvAGP" "0"
#    Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"
#    Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M"
#    Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO"

EndSection

When I run startx configured like this, X starts up, gives me a blank screen, and I get:

Code:

(II) NVIDIA(0): Supported display device(s): CRT-0, DFP-0, TV-0
(II) NVIDIA(0): Boot display device(s): TV-0
(II) NVIDIA(0): NVIDIA GPU detected as: GeForce3 Ti 500

.

It strikes me that it should be detecting my TV; after all, it's plugged in (the console works just fine, and it seems to have recognized it as the boot device).

When I twiddle xorg.conf to include 'Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"', X fails to start:

Code:

(==) NVIDIA(0): Using HW cursor

(II) NVIDIA(0): Using ConnectedMonitor string "TV-0"
(II) NVIDIA(0): Enabled display device(s): TV-0
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

I was under the impression that the ConnectedMonitor string would cause it to behave like there's a TV there; the output seems to back that up, and yet it then it dies, before even checking the modelines...

Help?

Thanks!
