Is this a 6800GT?

I want to sell a card I've since replaced, but no longer remember if it is nvidia 6800GT or something less, the plain vanilla version. Is there an easy way (from serial number or any other markings) to distinguish? I don't want to mislead anyone, but want to get a fair price when I sell. I'd post it but don't have an easy way to shrink it to a size that'll meet the forum requirements. Thanks, great forum.

Re: Is this a 6800GT?

Looks like it could be a GT, but it's hard to say without knowing the brand of card. For instance, some board partners cut costs on their plain 6800s by using the 6600GT coolers, whereas eVGA slapped a 6800GT cooler on their plain 6800s. Confusing without knowing the brand.

If you you are willing to pop the card back into the machine, the drivers will tell you what it is in the display properties control panel.

The only thing that card could be, other than a 6800 GT, is a 6800 GS. But if the card is older than a few months, you definitely have the former. It's not a 6800 vanilla because it has a power connector on the back. The 256 MB PCI-Express 6800 vanilla cards required no external power. Plus the cooler is that of a GT.

Saturn knows. ;) Its a 6800 GT.

eVGA Perhaps? I know for sure eVGA uses that sticker on the HSF.

Re: Is this a 6800GT?

Thanks for all the great help! I cannot find anything on the card that tells the manufacturer, so hope that the following will give you some clues as to manufacturer or model.

On the front, just to the right of the fan is 481D067814
On the front, top right is 8974 Ver 120
0426 GX V-BQR
94V-0 03 RU (but the R is reversed)

On the back, top middle/right is nVIDIA
180-10211-0000-A03

Bottom middle is a circle with a arrow through it pointing right next to a check sign and the numbers N11071
D33088
CN-OR7240-69702-495-0126 is centered in a paper sticker

Finally, there's a paper stickie and bar code with REV A00 on it

On the base of the bracket, embossed are the words Purcell, CA and the number P1083-0000.

Thanks everyone.

Yea, 6800GT... the 6800NU doesn't have the extra heatsink over the VR's I believe... Also, the heatsink design on the PCIe 6800NU is different.

That cooler looks a lot like the one on my 6800GT- except mine has XFX's Dog Mascott instead of that Nalu chick. I'm betting it is a 6800GT.

Of if it was installed on the PC the NV drivers would tell you. However it does look like a 6800Ultra which looks like a 6800GT.

Dude, it doesn't look at all like a 6800Ultra, the Ultra was a dual slot design. The one in question is a single slot design. It is either the 6800GT or the 6800GS. I'm betting that it is the GT.
