What does running things like glxgears, glxinfo and /sbin/lsmod | grep nvidia show?

Do you see details for nvida in /proc/driver/nvidia

FC5 is still in beta, you can expect some issues. Have you full updated it?

Re: how I can know wether 8178 is working?

I have install 8178 ,but i think it donnot work
because :I have done following
Remove the line:

Driver "nv"
(or Driver "vesa")
(or Driver "fbdev")

and replace it with the line:

Driver "nvidia"

Remove the following lines:

Load "dri"
Load "GLCore"

In the Module section of the file, add the line (if it does not already exist):

Load "glx"
when reboot:fail
