Gentoo, UT2004, nVidia 8178, X.org 7.0 lockups

Ok first off I guess I am pretty much without any support here running all this experimental stuff but I am not demanding a solution, I am merely giving my information to help nVidia or someone analyse this thing further.

Second this post will pretty much be a copy paste from the Gentoo forums topicUT2004, nVidia 8178, X.org 7.0 lockups

So here we go....

--Begin--

Dunno really where this belongs but I will post it here since it's so far only UT2004 that has showed this problem.
I will try to explain what happens.

When playing UT2004, so far this problem has only appeared in the menus, the screen freezes. Logging in via ssh works, so its not fatal, top shows X at 99.9% cpu.

/var/log/messages show:

Killing X with -9 works and allows me to login again and continue like before. Doom3, Quake4 shows no such problems, nor does this happen ingame for UT2004. I can trigger this bug by hanging around in the menu.

I'll try some stuff like changing driver versions maybe even kernel if i have time.

--End--

So this is what I have, also noteworthy is that Cedega games run fine including BF2.
