Laptop screen black with 8178 driver

I installed the 8178 driver on my toshiba tecra s1 laptop.
But now I have a black laptop screen (DFP-0). My external monitor
(CRT-1) is running fine.... It makes no difference if I configure
twinview or single screen mode. The laptop lcd keeps black.

When in Twinview mode I see that there are 2 desktops. I can
also go to it with the mouse (and drop windows there) ?!??!
So all screens are regocnized...

In /etc/modules.conf I added this lines:
options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=2
options nvidia NVreg_SoftEDIDs=0

I've made a nvidia-log file... But I can't upload it (too big?)
But here is a link to it: http://www.gti-ia-zo.nl/nvidia-log.txt

Thanks for any support!!!

Re: Laptop screen black with 8178 driver
I have a few questions:
0) If you change vga=0x317 to vga=normal and reboot, does that have any impact?
1) You've got a few "1024x768" modelines in your xorg.conf. If you comment them all out, does that have any impact?
2) Have you verified that you have the latest BIOS installed?

Hi Lonni!

Thanks for your repy!

0) This makes no difference (Only the boot-splashscreen dissapears)

1) No... nothing happens...

2) Yep, I've got version 1.20 from Toshiba

When I start in single-screen mode (Twinview option commented out) I hear
the start-sound of Suse. So X is starting, but only a black monitor...

A laptop is pretty worthless when you have to

Thanks for any help!!!

Re: Laptop screen black with 8178 driver
I'm afraid that I don't have this laptop, and cannot reproduce the problem.
