Why the garbled screen?
 

Hi,

When my Mandriva LE2006 boots into X, the display looks fine on the TVout, but if I want to ctrl-alt-F1, the screen is completely garbled. Also, once X exits during a shutdown, the screen is also garbled.

I saw a prior post which had a similar problem that suggested changed the display setting in lilo.conf. I tried that, but it didn't work for me. What do you suggest?

I'm including a copy of my nvidia-bug-report in the hopes this will help. My lilo.conf line is below:
