GeForce FX 5700LE in GNU/Linux Ubuntu
Hi, i'm spanish and i have a problem :( .
I think that it's impossible put the official driver in Linux Ubuntu with x.org... Yes, now the graphic card goes OK but not EXCELLENT. I need install with the official driver for have the 3d accelerated graphics and play games :o . I give details for help me in the problem: GNU/Linux Ubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10 with KDE and GNOME. Graphic card: GeForce FX 5700LE with XORG XSERVER. Kernel version: 2.6.12-10-386 If people can reply me with a HOWTO installing nvidia 100% I test the official driver: 1.0-8178 without packages of: nvidia, xorg-xserver without packages of: nvidia, xorg-xserver I think so, the problem (testing a lot) is the GLX, bad installed or bad version, I don't know. I edit the xorg.conf with vi and: I deleted: Load "dri" and Load "GLcore" I created/modified: Load "glx" I edit: "nv" to nvidia When I change the xorg.conf the gdm can't start. Perhaps Ubuntu can't install the official driver, some people use the command: sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg My english is poor and basic, sorry, I have 15 years and my school is a s*** because I live in spain :D Thank you for read my message and help me if you can :) |
