Installing Nforce 430 Drivers on Fedora Core
I have an Asus A8N-VM-CSM motherboard with the 410/430 chipset and i cant get the network drivers to install at all.. Does anyone know the steps in doing it and does the kernal first need to be updated or the bios to do so? I am fairly new to linux so if anyone has any ideas it would be well appreciated.. I am trying to set up a server and using the fedora core, most of the drivers dont seem to be recognised.

The forcedeth driver (which is part of the kernel) supports the NIC on that motherboard, however you will need a 2.6.14 (or later) kernel.
There's a separate lengthy thread elsewhere on nvnews which goes into great detail on how to get this motherboard fully functional under Linux. Thanks, Lonni |
