Dual Channel DDR
Ive been seeing a lot about upcoming dual channel ddr chipsets, SiS 655 to be specific.

Is that like Rambus where modules have to be installed in pairs or does the motherboard/chipset have 2 channels? Am I making any sense?

Also will the same DDR modules be used in these chipsets? DDR266/333/400?

Usually it just means they have a memory controller that will use the extra bandwidth without telling the OS or anything.
You can still use 1 stick, it just won't do as much with that.

a very good question. i know if you use 32bit RDRAM modules you do not have to install them in pairs. it would be interesting to find out if DDR will need to be installed in pairs to make use of the extra bandwidth

I hope not; otherwise we'll be back to a SIMM-like setup. Hopefully you'll be able to just use one stick, as most of my reading shows that when doing OC, having one stick guarantees the most stability.
