2d performance differences between GF6150 or GF7300?
Hi there,

time has come where I plan to buy a new PC for my daily work, the workload consists almost exclusivly out of 2d stuff, however I would like to use XGL later when things settle down and I already use composite.

I really wonder wether it makes any difference for application performance wether I choose a GF6150 onboard chip or a GF7300 with 64-bit memory bus.
Of course I understand that 3d performance will suffer a lot (and therefor also XGL stuff), however some measurements with higher-level toolkits have shown no real difference between my FX5200 and GF6600 running on "normal" xorg.

What do you think?

Thank you in advance, lg Clemens

In my opinion nothing has changed in 2D and Video acceleration features since geforce 4mx.
Apple's quartz compositor 3D desktop requires minimum 16MB RAM on minimum geforce 2mx or any Radeon AGP card. I think 3D desktop requirement for X should be on the same level.
