NVidia not working this is my last resort

I have tried everything to get my NVidia Geforce4 ti 4600 to work with absolutly no succes! The two main error messages I get are (EE) no devices detected and (EE) no pages or something like that...if anybody has a clue what I'm talking about any help would be good...contact me anyway possible

your system specs would be a GREAT help as well as the version of linux you are using :)

It's a Sony viao P4A 2.4Ghz, 512 mb of Ram, mandrake 9.0, Geforce4 Ti 4600, cd burner, dvd reader, and i guess that's about it...if that helps any

As well as the full X log -- /var/log/XFree86.0.log. Don't put it in a (set of) posts(s), just rename it to a .txt extension and attach it to your post. As well as the version driver you are using.

I've tryed about everything I could think of doing to my XF86Config file to get it to run after installing the new drivers. After running the "sh" file to determine which ones are best I wound up with NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.mdk90up.i586.rpm and NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm maybe somehow these are wrong or I'm not seeing what the problem is but it always says
(EE) No devices detected and
Fatal server error: no screens found
I'll attach my log file so you can see everything since those messages one give a vague clue as to what's going wrong.
Whoever gets this and wants to help can also reach my on AIM as IcyH3ll if you would like, in any case thanks in advance.

and I realize that none of those devices are nVidia ones. They're mostly SiS (mfr. ID 1039 is SiS), and a couple by someone else (10ec and 1033, I don't know who those are). nVidia is 10de, which doesn't show up anywhere.

Then, later, there is this:

which means that again, you have an SiS device there. This is bus 1 (AGP), device 0, subfunction 0, which is almost always your main graphics device. Which is reporting itself as an SiS.

Which is why the nVidia drivers can't find a device to drive -- there isn't one.

Do you have onboard video? If so, disable it in your BIOS and see if another device shows up.

Also check out /proc/pci for other stuff that the kernel sees. It is possible that the X scanpci module isn't seeing everything, though it's not likely.

Oh yeah, "PnP OS" should also be set to No if it it's Yes. It's in your BIOS as well. Since you appear to have onboard video, it is entirely possible that your BIOS thinks that the nVidia card is "non-essential" hardware, so it doesn't initialize it. Which means that nothing in Linux will see it. Turning PnP OS off will make the BIOS initialize all devices, which might help.
