Firefox crashes xserver on some sites with nvida-glx

Are the nvidia developers aware on this bug?

I had similary issues in the past when I view a mysql dump which contans binary data using gedit, but havn't tryed doing this in a long time because it kills X.

floogy, this is a known bug (and was discussed in a separate thread on this forum). It will be resolved in the firstr 1.0-9xxx series driver release.

Thanks,
Lonni

netllama, thank you for your reply, that shed some light on the progress of development regarding this bug.
But 1.0-10xxx seems to be far away, right?

Is there maybe hope for a workaround for firefox, because epiphany and mozilla are not affected in ubuntu dapper?

Please, point me to the other threads regarding this bug.

netllama says 1.0-9xxx ,not 1.0-10xxx, right?

uhm.. sorry, yes of course 1.0-9xxx, but in ubuntu we're at 1.0-7xxx , so it will take a long time anyway...

Does anybody know if it will be easy to work around this in firefox?

Is this thread related to this bug?
I'm not shure about it, because it has nothing to do with the "screen freezes, mouse pointer is moving" bug as far as I see, because the whole xserver is shut down and restarts to gdm!
Please point me to the related bugreports.

Ok, then I may using the relatively outdatet 'legacy' driver.
http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/s...er&release=all

But, please tell me, where can I find the thread, mentioned by netllama?
