My screen doesn't contain all my Desktop

Hello,
I just buy a GeForce6600. My os is mandrake 10.1, kenel 2.6.8.1-10mdk
CPU : AMD AThlon XP 2800+
I have installed the driver for my new Video Card with NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8762-pkg1.run
I can start X server but it doesn't work well.
On my screen, I just can see a half of my Desktop. I must move the mouse cursor to see all the part of my Desktop.
I try to change the resolution of my screen of PC, but without success.
Until it works, I used vesa driver instead of nividia.
Do you have any ideas?
Goodbye

You have not selected any resolution for your monitor, and the driver has picked an unreasonably small default value.
I don't know mandrake so I cannot tell you how to select the resolution, but it is somewhere in the administrator tools.
Try to set it to 1024x768

Re: My screen doesn't contain all my Desktop

I fix my problem.
My Desktop was bigger than my screen because of the option "Virtual" in xorg.conf
I erase this and restart my x server.
My Desktop was not bigger than my screen anymore but there was a really small resolution.
I use nvidia-xconfig and now it works well with a resolution 1024*768.
:D
Bye
