X.org 7.1 and beta 9626 drivers - xrandr doesn't work on x86_64

The support for xrandr has been deteriorating in the drivers supplied by nVidia during the last couple of releases. Now it appears to be completly gone. Nowmatter what I do, xrandr and programs using the xrandr interface doesn't have an effect on the resolution or update frequency of my monitor.

I'm not clear specifically what is not working. Please detail how to reproduce the problem(s) you're reporting.

"xrandr -s" wasn't changing the video mode. It's working again after an x server restart. I'll see if I can see what caused it to stop working.
