9742beta+FX700+DVI failure to sync?
I just replaced my ancient monitor with a Planar PL2010M and I see an odd problem: When using an analog connection (via VGA cable), all is well, but the exact same xorg.conf with a digital connection (DVI-D) gives the monitor no end of trouble syncing and is, at best, terribly noisy. My first thought was a cable/connection problem, but the interesting thing is that the open nv driver works fine, including at the same resolutions. Note that the card/driver isn't having any trouble selecting the right connection, and hand-selecting sync frequencies has no obvious effect. Also interesting is that console video is fine until I start X (say by booting to level 3), but remains noisy after killing the X server and going back to console mode, requiring a reboot to reset the card.
I'm using driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9742-pkg1, dist FC6, kernel 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6, o.org 7.1.1.

card Chaintech GeForce FX5700LE w/128M 64bit (I know, but I need a low-profile agp card)

Are you stating that there is audible noise, or signal noise? Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.
