9631: glxinfo kills xserver!

1 Attachment(s)
Hi there!

I wanted to install the new driver in order for beryl to work even better, than it already did.
Installation went fine (using envy), but now glx doesn't work anymore. Although the xorg.log file says the module loaded correctly running glxinfo makes the xserver reboot. Sam goes for any other glx* program, beryl, and even clicking on "OpenGL/GLX settings" in nvidia-settings.
What am I missing?

I'm running Kubuntu Edgy on a laptop with a GeForce FX Go5650 card, for any further info i've included the bug report log.

According to the bug report, you're not using the glx module which ships with the nvidia driver:

(II) LoadModule: "glx"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
(II) Module glx: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 7.1.1, module version = 1.0.0
ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 0.3

I'd suggest (re)installing the nvidia driver to correct this problem.

Thanks,
Lonni

Thanks a lot! Obviously envy isn't such a great tool after all. Installing it by hand solved the problem!

Now I can flip my cube again! Yeah!
