Zalman 9700NT Anyone Using?
 

I pretty much know all the names in HSFs out there, but for some reason I seem to be drawn to the Zalman 9700NT, and wanted to know what everyone's experience has been with them?

Well I don't have that one but I picked up the Zalman CNPS9500 AT today and I must say I am impressed.

C2D E6400 @ 3ghz.
stock heat sink idle: 45c
stock heat sink load: 63.5c

zalman idle: 32c
zalman load: 45c

thats weird, i have same heatsink and my idle and load look more like your temps u get with your stock heatsink. :thumbdwn:

that was the same with my 9500. Then I found out the base wasnt flat. :|

HEHE yeah my temps using a 9700 are only a bit better then his stock setup at the same speed. I'm such a nOOb. :( :p

Most everyone is saying the Tuniq - Tower 120 Cooler is better.

I've been seeing that alot lately too. but 23c idle - 32c load for my 9500 is tough to beat.

With an X2 yeah. My AC Freezer 64 pro ran my X2 3800 @ 2.4 30C idle.

Everyone's load temps are different because everyone has different definitions of "load." Some categorize it while gaming, some categorize it with Orthos, some categorize it w/ Prime95, etc.

The only load temps I ever pay attention to or report are what I get dual-prime w/ either small or large FFT's. If you bench your CPU w/ prime you'll find it getting a lot hotter than you think it does and you'll be able to test it for maximum stability.

And the Tuniq Tower is the best air cooler there is. Period.

Well my temps in windows are like 45-48 just browsing the web, goes up to maybe 55-57 in games. tops out about 65-70 in TAT with 100% load.

Ask Slie how much voltage he's running. That makes all the difference. A tenth of a volt can make a 10C difference.

yeah, those temps i posted are with 1.375 in bios.
