Which HDTV?

I have narrowed it down to 2 choices:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889101097
http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggIma...101-097-03.jpg

If not one of these what do you suggest?

2 Requirements:
-must be 1080p
-must be $2,300 or less

samsung dlp? look at either the hl-s5087w or the hl-s5687w :D

both offer 1080p, substantially more screen area for the price and great displays

Re: Which HDTV?

I saw the samsung live today with an HD-clip running on it(Lord of the Rings) and it really didn't blow me away... :-/ But I'd go with an LcoS TV myself after being brainwashed by EvilChris! :) CNET had a good review of the 55A2000(video), and here in Europe it goes for about 2000€. (nana2)

And some of the Sharp TVs seem to have banding issues as well! :(

For $2300 get a 65" DLP or 60" LCoS.

From what I understand, it has all the benefits of LCD and all the benefits of DLP with none of the negatives from either.

Yup. Here's a really informative link:

black levels, contrast, 3 chip non-wobulated 1080p

That's probably not laymens.

Laymens I guess is " it looks the best ".

Of course that's subjective too!

I am a big fan of CRT technology and had been waiting for SED before I got out of it. Sony's LCoS sets were so impressive that I bought into them. While my CRT's will still beat my LCoS in PQ, the massive size of my 70" panel overcomes that. Basically LCoS was "close enough" and the screen size pushed it over the edge.
