Hopefully those performance improvements are pretty significant.

God that demo ran so bad. Probably the worst performance I've ever seen in a game.

My brother might get one from ebay. He's been a fan of OpFlash, but he's a little tight on the money these days. Having recently "discovered" ebay, it's like the Holy Grail for him. :)

I played the demo recently on some co-op maps and it ran really well, even though my setup is pretty crap. I had most settings on high, 11x8 4xAA,4xAF, view distance 1200. looked awesome too. I'll do some benchmarks.

Ok, my idea of running well has been warped by playing too much Oblivion: roughly 25 FPS with most options on medium (doesnt seem to make much difference visually).

Gah...

The game doesn't look anywhere near good enough to justify the performance. Seriously, in the demo I turned everything down, it still doesnt run good (good = always above 40fps) on my system.

Re: Armed Assault News

How can you say it doesnt look that good? Those screenshots look obscenely good, I reckon it looks as good as oblivion in places, if not better due to the huge draw distance. Also bear in mind it was only a demo at its been out for a while, the performance is likely to be much better in the retail game.

Re: Armed Assault News

The current version of the retail game (v1.02, released in Eastern Europe, and Germany) actually performs on most computers about as bad as the latest demo .exe, if not slightly worse because the island in the retail game is a lot larger.
