7600 GT OC

I bought a bfg 7600 GT OC. Its advertised overclocked out of the box with a memory clock of 1450 MHz.

When I run nvidia-settings or nvclock in linux it shows the memory clock at :

Card: nVidia Geforce 7600GT
Card number: 1
Memory clock: 722.250 MHz
GPU clock: 578.571 MHz

why 722? should it not be 1450? i'm pretty new to this so bare with me :)

Re: 7600 GT OC

The box is advertizing the DDR2 rate (two transfers per actual clock), where nvclock is showing the actual clock rate.

DDR = Double Data Rate, so if you have a mem clock of 722.250; then multiply it by 2. 722.250*2 = 1444.5
