Legacy driver version need update on nvidia website
The legacy driver version on nvidia website is out of date. It it still set to 1.0-7184 while 1.0-9631 are out since a long time.
Thanks in advance :) |
Re: Legacy driver version need update on nvidia website
I don't know what you're on, but nvidia has *amazing* support. They are the ONLY hardware manufacturer that I know of that will interact with customers on driver development like this, and I have seen MANY times, problems being reported in this forum being corrected for the next driver release.
And if you're having a hard time finding the legacy 9631 driver, its on a sticky at the top of this forum. |
Re: Legacy driver version need update on nvidia website
I have a x200m (Ati inside :thumbdwn: )... but I want to buy a notebook with the upcoming cards (Ge Force Go 8600? (nana2) ) to play. (more and more games are working with Wine so I have good hope)
I was just pointing out that the legacy driver is not up to date on the website, I did not say nVidia support was not good. And I know where I can find the last version, but people who don't come here to search can't find themselves. Concerning the support, I saw on the forum people saying they are having the same known bug since a long time, which has not been fixed yet. But perhaps it is Beryl and Xorg fault, I don't know. I apologize if my post was misunderstood, nVidia is the best for graphics under Linux :p |

I just saw the threads about search for developer and technical support engineer, I apologize :)

Re: Legacy driver version need update on nvidia website
1.0-7184 and 1.0-9631 support different sets of legacy GPUs; unfortunately, the download pages and some of the relevant documentation do not reflect this very well at this point. Work is being done to improve the NVIDIA download pages and documentation to help identify the correct driver for a given legacy GPU.
