Here is my 3dmard03 scores with w/o oc on the radeon 9700 pro and my gffx 5800 ultra. Whys is clock freq only 301mhz? I thought it was supposed to be 500mhz!!!!
Score: 4842 Date: 2003-03-07 CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2800 MHz GPU: ATI RADEON 9700/9500 Series 324 MHz / 311 MHz OS: Microsoft Windows XP Res: 1024x768@32 bit Score: 4030 Date: 2003-03-29 CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2812 MHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForceFX Series 301 MHz / 602 MHz OS: Microsoft Windows XP Res: 1024x768@32 bit Verto GeForce4 TI 4600 MSRP $ 399.99 Pny web site analyzer says a gforce4 ti 4600 is 1481% better than my gffx 5800 ultra what the crap is going on?? :( :fu: :banghead: MikeC: I updated the subject line of this thread to something more appropriate - from "Why does my gffx 5800 ultra suck so bad?" to "Unexpected 3DMark03 score with GeForce FX 5800 Ultra" |
do you have the latest dets from nvidia.com??? 43.45??
I thought v43.45 was the lasted driver?????:banghead: :banghead:
do you have the latest dets from nvidia.com??? 43.45?? YES! I downloaded from file planet. HELPPPPP!
do you have the latest bios drivers? etc??? these drivers helped my score tremendously in 3dmark 2k3 with my geforcefx... and as for the incorrect clockspeed, dont worry about that, mine does the same thing(see sig) but it is running at full speed.
1 more important thing... did you format after switching from ati?? i really reccommend it. if it still does it after formatting you know its a hardware problem
I found my answer, heres a peice from www.hardocp.com. When I run 3dmark or pny analyzer their software application only is 2d!!!!
"It has hardware monitoring abilities that allow it to adjust fan speed and clock speed automatically. When in a standard 2D environment it operates at 300MHz core and 300MHz (600MHz DDR) memory. This allows it to not generate as much heat and thus producing less fan noise. When a 3D application is initialized, the card adjusts the clocks to 500/500 (1000 DDR) instantaneously and at the same time the fan spins up to full speed". |
does the fan shut off when you run 3dmark??? if its running, its at full speed.
Dude now Im bummin, yes the fan is on!!!! I didnt format the hard drive after switching. What is the best way to do that?:fu: :banghead:

What in the world possessed you to switch from a 9700 pro to that piece of sh!t? |

:rw: The GeforceFX isn't sh!t. If you have the cash, buy it. It just came too late for it to be a good solution in highend gaming other than the Radeon 9700 Pro. The best way to format is to type: Code:
format c:Remove all traces of ATi from your system. Go to Install/Uninstall Programs and uninstall all of the ATi stuff. |
