8800 GTS and Linux
I am currently dual booting linux Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty Fawn and Windows Vista I have installed graphics drivers for vista but if i go through the process nvidia explained it said cannot open NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run i have already have tried is-i and the Sh thing described in another post. I really want tou use berly but i cant because i cannot enable drivers if i lick desktop customizatition and Desktop effect and enable my drivers It crashes and i have to reinstall PS it also says can not load a memory thing:thumbdwn: I have an nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640mb

Some good information in the forum stickies.

I would also suggest steering clear of beryl at the moment, as there is a pretty severe bug Nvidia is working on, but hasn't been resolved yet.

Just use that. It will install the nvidia driver correctly without jack squat work on your part. You just install envy and run it. It will even set the x configuration for you.

I think 8800 GTS 3D is supported only in BETA drivers?correct me if am wrong?
