X freezes on running any GL app

2 Attachment(s)
On a newly (re-)started X, everything is fine. After 30 minutes or so, running any GL app freezes X. Well, not really freeze. I can still move the mouse cursor or CTRL-C the app. But every action takes tens to hundreds of seconds to respond. I strace'd glxinfo and found that it kept sched_yield()ing.

My card is a on-board GeForce 6100 chip, with drvier 100.14.09

some time ago, i had the same problem with my on Board NVidia 6100.
Does the HDD LED flash when the system hangs? - If it is the same error you could continue work after ca. 5 minutes. Just try it.
After installing a xorg update the problem only sometimes appears when working with Text/Planmaker.

I also got similerv problems (below URI and HANGS VC when using X).
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=93596

But,I re-booted with "vga=foo video=vesafb:ypan=pro, nomtrr" , this problem (and VC problems on 100.14.09 w/vesafb) seems to be not happend yet.

Before, I usually boot with "vga=foo video=vesafb:ypan=pro,mtrr:3".

So, I suggest you to test re-booting without mtrr, with vesafb, or re-build kernel without vesafb support.

Regureds,
artanejp.

It's is not gone. It merely happens less frequently, even with vesafb disabled completely.
