GLX initialization failed on Debian
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I installed 100.14.11 on my laptop, but coudn't get glx initialized. In other words, X hangs during the glx initialization (see the log-file). What could be the reason? Thanks, Val. |
Re: GLX initialization failed on Debian
According to your bug report, the 100.14.11 driver installation failed:
ERROR: The runtime configuration check failed for the library 'libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11' (expected: '/usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1', found: '/usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1'). The most likely reason for this is that conflicting OpenGL libraries are installed in a location not inspected by `nvidia-installer`. Please be sure you have uninstalled any third-party OpenGL and/or third-party graphics driver packages. |

I accomplished driver installation using '-force-tls=new', but the problem with glx initialization persists :(
What could be the reason? How could I debug it? Thanks, Val. |
Re: GLX initialization failed on Debian
Try installing with
-force-tls=classic |
Re: GLX initialization failed on Debian

Re: GLX initialization failed on Debian
I'm going to debug X initialization. Any tips are welcome.
In particular, I need to know how to set up gdb. |
