Geforce 6200 random screen corruption / glitches

1 Attachment(s)
Hi users and devs,

My Geforce 6200 is never worked properly in my box.

I have found there are three problem (don't know if they are related?)
* Screen corupption (see the screen cap below)
* glxinfo looks properly, but glxgears report 20 ~ 60fps and slow down the system radically.
* random lockup (recoverable with ssh and killall -9 X)

I'm not using compiz / xgl stuff.
Distro: Gentoo 2.6.18-gentoo-r6 / 2.6.20-gentoo-r8
xorg-x11-7.1
nvidia-drivers-1.0.8776 / 9755

I've tried turn on / off FastWrite / SBA
Switch AGP rate betwen 2x / 4x.
I've also swtich between agpgart / NvAGP

But the situation does not get better.

I found one interesting thing, the corruption never appears within
the gnome-terminal window. but on the desktop / other gtk apps / OOo / Acrobat reader

And screen captures showing the problem.

Usually the screen corruption will be cleared when I switch desktop.
But appear again after a short period.

In some apps, the behavior appears more serious. (eg: OpenOffice.org or Acrobat Read)

Thanks.

1.0-9755 is no longer supported. I'd suggest the following:
0) Retest with 100.14.11
1) Verify that you're using the latest motherboard BIOS

However based on the screenshots this looks like it may be a hardware problem.

I've retest it with 100.14.09, and verified that, MB BIOS is the latest version.
I'll download 100.14.11 and do some test tmr.

BTW, what kind of hardware problem you suspect?
Incompatible between MB / Display card, OR the display card is
just broken, OR something else??

The corruption looks very similar to other cases where the GPU is damaged/broken.

Confirmed. Hardware broken.
The distributor has replaced one for me.

Sorry for the noise!
