vesafb (vesa-tng): Refresh rate > 60 Hz
Hi
Is there any way to increase the refresh rate beyond the default 60 Hz for vesafb (vesa-tng) frame buffers? Below is a dmesg part given the following boot parameter: video=vesafb:noedid,maxhf:115,maxvf:160,maxclk:350 ,1024x768-32@75 vesafb: Build 060809.4 , MCP61 - mcp61-80, Chip Rev (OEM: NVIDIA) vesafb: VBE version: 3.0 vesafb: protected mode interface info at c000:d180 vesafb: pmi: set display start = c00cd1b6, set palette = c00cd220 vesafb: pmi: ports = 3b4 3b5 3ba 3c0 3c1 3c4 3c5 3c6 3c7 3c8 3c9 3cc 3ce 3cf 3d0 3d1 3d2 3d3 3d4 3d5 3da vesafb: monitor limits: vf = 160 Hz, hf = 115 kHz, clk = 350 MHz vesafb: scrolling: redraw Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 128x48 vesafb: framebuffer at 0xd0000000, mapped to 0xf8880000, using 24576k, total 131072k I tried different kind of parameters but the vesa bios seems to ignore settings of the refresh rate. BTW, I have a nforce 430 chipset (mobo: gigabyte m61p-s3). It seems that I experience the problems illustrated at: http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/project...leshooting.php Hence, the chipset is not VBE 3.0 conformant. Can anybody confirm this? Is there a workaround, e.g. modify video BIOS? Thanks for your support. Cheers, Thomas |
