random freezes with Geforce 7025/NForce630a

Hi folks,

a few days ago I got an Abit AN-M2 with an Athlon X2 BE-2300 and installed (as usual) Linux on it. After installing the latest drivers for the onboard NVidia card i have random hangs and freezes already in glxgears. I get the following error:

Afterwards the system is unusable. You cant even reboot, although a ssh-shell is still a bit responsible. I already tried all the suggestions of the support threads like the kernel command line options. Nothing helps. The normal desktop runs fine.

Im using the latest drivers: 100.14.11 and im attaching the nvidia-bug-report logfile.

Have you verified that you're using the latest motherboard BIOS?
Does this problem persist if you're not using the Composite extension in xorg.conf?

Thankyou very much for the tip with the composite extensions. But after testing a few more times, it freezes again :(

Oh and btw, bios version was the latest :) Do ya need another bug-report without the extensions?

Hi folks,

i "replaced" the onboard 7025 with an 7300GS. It looks like its stable now. Even 2D looks better then before.

I know this thread is somewhat old, but I was suffering from the same problem, which I fixed installing the latest mainboard bios (BIOS ID: 16)

Until the previous BIOS version (ID: 15) this motherboard was still freezing randomly when using OpenGL applications.
