S10U01 problem with NVS & Viewsonic vx2255wmb
I recently purchased the viewsonic vx2255wmb (22" widescreen) and when I tried to connect via DVI to the Quatro NVS video card, the nvidia utility says my resolution is 1600x1200 and not 1680x1050. I tried to modify the xorg.conf and nothing has worked. However, if I connect via VGA connection, then everything works as expected.
Can someone help me with this issue? |

Thanks. I guess I'm confused. I looked at the stickeys and 3 of they are driver releases. I have the latest driver and looked at the release notes, but didn't find anything about my problem in the notes.

You need to generate an bug report that includes a verbose X log.

Ok, I read that, but didn't realize that's what you wanted :)
Ok, I ran the bug report and attach it. |

Neither of the attached files contain a verbose X log.

Sorry, I'm a newbie at this. How do I start X with verbose 6? :(

Re: S10U01 problem with NVS & Viewsonic vx2255wmb
According to your X log, you need a pixelclock of 146.25Mhz for the 1680x1050 mode, but your NVS285 is only capable of 135Mhz:
(--) NVIDIA(0): ViewSonic VX2255wm-2 (DFP-0): 135.0 MHz maximum pixel clock (--) NVIDIA(0): ViewSonic VX2255wm-2 (DFP-0): Internal Single Link TMDS (--) NVIDIA(0): Detailed Timings: (--) NVIDIA(0): 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz (--) NVIDIA(0): Pixel Clock : 146.25 MHz (--) NVIDIA(0): HRes, HSyncStart : 1680, 1784 (--) NVIDIA(0): HSyncEnd, HTotal : 1960, 2240 (--) NVIDIA(0): VRes, VSyncStart : 1050, 1053 (--) NVIDIA(0): VSyncEnd, VTotal : 1059, 1089 (--) NVIDIA(0): H/V Polarity : -/+ Hence, you're falling back to a 1600x1200 mode. |
