What a bunch of idiots, clearly they've never learned how to properly apply thermal paste! Look at the GLOB of paste they put on, and spreading it by hand. I suggest anyone to go to Arctic silvers website, and see how it's supposed to be done. :thumbdwn:

It's absolutely impossible to get the same readings per application they way they apply TIM.

What's better Zalman ZM-STG1 or AS5?

I don't really trust to many reviews as most of the reviewers don't know WTF they are doing when applying and they don't even allow for any burn in.

Balancestars ?
IMO no review from China can be trusted refering to a chinese company.

I'd like to know the same thing... As well as if Arctic Cooling MX-2 is any better than AS5, from the reviews I have been reading they say that Arctic Cooling MX-2 is better but I would rather have information given to me from gamers then some review site that might have an ulterior motive.

It doesn't matter how the hell you spread thermal paste. They make a big deal out of it just to psyche you all out. Just put a freakin' spudge on the center then fasten HSF/block.

Winnar = Ceramique.

these guys got Ceramique to win which goes against what the manufacturers say.

Ive been using Ceramique since it was released
put small amount on ,clean it off to fill the micoscopic grooves then apply a fat rice grain amount and allow for a 20 degree twist to spread

Twist off to remove otherwise you will yank out the chip with the HS (I did this with my 478 so learned from the mistake) ,not so much of an issue with 775

Shullup.

I use thermal grease for toothpaste :D

I've been using AS5 for years now and don't see any reason to change. And they definately don't know how to properly apply thermal grease. All it takes these days is a rice sized drop in the middle and put on the heatsink smooshing it around a bit. Voila. Done. None of this spreading with a finger crap.
