Geforce go7200 crash with 100.14.19

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I have a Geforce 7200 go on a hp pavillion dv6000 laptop. And I'm having a lot of freezes and crashes with the 100.14.19 driver. I'm currently using the 100.14.09 driver where I don't have those problems with.

It looks like I don't experience those problems with when I'm not booting with noirqdebug. But when I boot without this paramater my usb stops working after a while. And I'm also not experiencing this problem with the 100.14.09 driver.

I've attached my bug report. It also looks like more people are having the same problem:

I'm having the same problem with 100.14.11

Thank you

To get it stable I need to boot thekernel with the following parameters: "noapic noirqdebug"
You also have to use the 100.14.09 version of the nvidia driver. This runs stable on my system.

I can use the new driver when I boot with the following parameters: "noapic pci=nommconf"
But then I lose usb support and interrupts are handeld wrongly.

I'm also using kernel 2.6.22.

All other things work fine (wireless, media buttons, ...). I'm using Linux Mint, so it should also work with Ubuntu. I've got the webcam to work on pclinuxos, but not with Mint.

I have similar problems using Ubuntu 7.10 in my HP dv6159eu (Nvidia GeforceGo 7200 and AMD turion64X2 ).
Using the nvidia proprietary drivers sometimes the system appears frozen for a while (from few seconds to almost a minute), just to recover by itself after that. But that happens so often that using the laptop is very uncomfortable and annoying.

I had not this problem before, even though that the HP dv6000 series seems very unlucky with Linux (for example, during the boot and the shootdown is very unstable without the boot option "noapic", but using it you have some problems with USB...).

Will the fix be included in the next release of the driver?

OFF TOPIC:
borealis8uno,

I found that booting with only the default parameters and acpi_os_name="Windows 2006" solves all of those problems except the nVidia one. This makes your BIOS believe you are running Vista.

There also appears to be a problem with the wireless on these laptops, please read this.
