9625 beta / some problems on Geforce 3 & Fedora 6
I tried the 9625 beta driver on a up-to-date beta of Fedora Core 6. The final version of FC6 is scheduled to be released in a weeks time. The box has a 2GHz Pentium 4 processor and an old GeForce 3 card (NV20 [GeForce3 Ti 500] (rev a3)). The kernel version is 2.6.18-1.2747.fc6.
- The driver includes linux/config.h, which has been removed from the current version of the kernel headers. I removed the include directive from the file nv-linux.h, and after that, the driver compiled and installed without errors.
- Video comes out wrong. X.org log says color depth is 24 bits (format 32), but on the screen it looks like 8-bit or worse, and the colors are mangled in strange ways.
- AIGLX seems to work. Compiz (from Fedora Extras) does not draw window decorations for some reason, but works otherwise, effects included. This is on X.org 7.1, not Xgl.
