Re: glx not loading
I was sending you a rather long string of emails awhile back, although you probably don't remember. I was finally able to get the kernel source to work (apt-get one apparently had problems as you presumed) and am now using kernel 18.104.22.168. I used the config file for the apt-get kernel and did a 'make oldconfig.' I haven't been able to get it to work all this time because of incorrect mkinitrd syntax.
I should have mentioned in my first post that I've already tried reinstalling 1.0-8774 with no altered results.
Also, the nvidia-settings tools (glx information section) displays "GLX not available: either the GLX extension is not available on this X server, or there was a problem retrieving GLX information from the X server."
The nv-glx extension is available but not the nvidia-glx one.
The nvidia-installer.log file reveals this error, which is something I'm somewhat familiar with...
