Default X process saturates the CPU when Xinerama (SLS) enabled

We are experiencing a problem where the X process saturates the CPU when we run a java application (using JRE v1.4 and v1.5) in Xinerama (Single Logical Screen) mode under Xorg v.6.9.

We are using four LCD monitors with two PCIe Nvidia Quadro FX3500 graphics cards along with the latest driver (version 1.0-9629) but can reproduce the problem with the last six versions of the driver.

I should mention that the problem seems to go away if we use TwinView. For our purposes however, we need to run in SLS mode using Xinerama.

Also, we can reproduce this particular problem under the following Linux distributions:
- Suse Enterprise Linux Desktop v.10
- Redhat Enterprise WS v.4.0
- Fedora Core 5
- Debian Sarge

At this point, we suspect the driver may be contributing to the problem.
Has anybody experienced something similar?
Can anybody share their thoughts on this?

Please see the attached nvidia bug report log file.
