Default BUG: 9742 Beta, 8800 GTS, Xserver crash Due to seg fault in NV driver

System specs:

hp P4 with 1gb ram
ASUS 8800 GTS
9742 beta drivers
RHELv4 update 4
kernel 2.6.9-42 ELsmp

Description:

This problem does not occur in the 8774 drivers.
Running some OpenGL stuff, x-server restarts, or crashes with "NoTrapSignals". OpenGL routine runs fine the first time around, and the second time, xserver goes down.

from core dump...
SIGNAL 11 (seg fault) in module nvidia_drv.so...

(gdb) backtrace
#0 0x0099bffa in _nv001808X ()
from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so
#1 0x0099a035 in _nv001838X ()
from /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so

I have attached a precrash(after the first run) bug log, as well as one that I got via remoting into the box after it crashed.

For reference, this crash occurred when I was using a 7900GTX and the 96xx official drivers as well. Not sure if it is there in the 8776 drivers, but whatever security fixes were added there might be worth checking out.

If you need any more info, please let me know. Thanks!

Russell
